_{Minutes of the ANC1A Regular Meeting}

_{held on May 9, 2012 at Tubman Elementary School, D.C.}

_{Acting Chairman Kent Boese began the meeting at 7:10 p.m. Commissioners present for the meeting were: Lisa Kralovic (1A01), Vickey Wright-Smith (1A02), Sheldon Scott (1A03), Betty Pair (1A04), Laina Aquiline (1A05), William Brown (1A06), Kent Boese (1A08), Bobby Holmes (1A09), and Lenwood O. Johnson (1A10), and). Commissioners absent were Thomas Boisvert (1A07) and Dotti Love Wade (1A11). Approximately 25 persons attended the meeting.}

_{Community Announcements}

Several persons spoke under the Community Announcements portion:

Richard Dubeshter – announced a committee planning meeting for the Friends of the Trolley Park (11th & Monroe) planned for May 12 at noon.

Grace Lenihan – spoke about the 1300 b/o Oak Street neighborhood watch and neighborhood clean up events. She also encouraged the assembly to attend their monthly PSA 409 meetings.

Juan Camilo Barragan – thanked the community for their turn out at Mayor Gray’s Ward 1 Budget Town Hall meeting and reported that Ward 1 attendance was 33% higher than the second most attended Budget Town hall.

_{Cecilia Jones presented and distributed the ANC 1A May 2012 Public Safety Report .}

_{Treasurer’s Report}

_{Commissioner Brown reported on the current balance in the ANC 1A account and gave an accounting of recent checks issue by the Commission.}

_{Official Business}

_{Commissioner Boese introduced a Grant application in the amount of $1,000 for the Ward 1 Senior Wellness Center. Commissioner Boese moved to approve the application.}

• _{Motion was approved, “unanimously.”}

_{Commissioner Aquiline introduced an Amendment to Resolution in Support of Public Space Application (DDOT #62809) For Sidewalk Café (3303 14th Street, NW). Commissioner Aquiline moved to approve the resolution. Commissioner Johnson requested a roll call vote.}

• _{Motion was approved, Commissioners Kralovic, Scott, Pair, Aquiline, and Boese voting “Yes”; Commissioners Wright-Smith, Brown, and Johnson voting “No”; No Abstentions.}
