_{held on November 9, 2010 at Tubman Elementary School, D.C.}

_{Chairman William Brown called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. Commissioners present for meeting were: Lisa Kralovic (1A01), Betty Pair (1A04), William H. Jordan (1A05), William Brown (1A06), Cliff Valenti (1A08), LaKeisha Thomas (1A09) and Lenwood O. Johnson (1A10). Commissioners Calvin Woodland (1A02), Jamie Simcox (1A07), Luis A, Morales (1A03) and Sandra Scottland (1A11) were absent. Approximately 15 persons attended the meeting.}

_{A quorum was declared and the agenda was approved.}

_{Minutes for the October meeting were approved – A Motion was made by Chairman Brown and seconded by Commissioner Pair.}

_{No formal Treasurer’s Report was given: however, concerns were raised from Commissioner Thomas (Treasurer) about receiving statements from the bank.}

_{Approximately 2 members of the audience made community announcements.}

_{Presentations}

_{Representatives from the Georgia Avenue Development Task Force made a presentation sharing task force development recommendations for Georgia Avenue.}

_{Official Business}

_{A motion was made by Commissioner Johnson and Seconded by Commissioner Jordan to approve a $500 grant for Community Help in Music Educations (C.H.I.M.E). Representative for CHIME was not present. (During the discussion, Commissioner Valenti made a motion to close debate. Seconded by Commissioner Pair, motion passed. 5 voting “Yes” and 2 voting “No.”)}

• _{The Grant Motion failed. 3 Commissioners voting “Yes”; 4 voting “No”; 0 Abstaining.}

_{A motion was made by Chairman Pair and Seconded by Commissioner Jordan to award grant of $500 to the Columbia Heights Community Marketplace (Farmers Market).}

• _{Motion was approved, 6 Commissioners voting “Yes”; 0 voting “No”; 1 Abstaining.}

_{A motion was made by Commissioner Jordan and Seconded by Commissioner Valenti to spend $240 to purchase an AD in the Park View United Neighborhood Coalition’s (UNC) newsletter to announce ANC1A regularly scheduled meetings.}
