Minutes of the ANC 1A Regular Meeting

held on October 14, 2009 at Tubman Elementary School, D.C.

Chairman Cliff Valenti called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. A quorum was reached at 7:20 p.m. Commissioners present were: Lisa Kralovic (1A01), Calvin Woodland (1A02), Betty Pair (1A04), William H. Jordan (1A05), Cliff Valenti (1A08), LaKeisha G. Thomas (1A09), Lenwood Johnson (1A10), and Sandra Scottland (1A11). Commissioners Luis Morales (1A03), Samuel Johnson (1A06), and James Simcox (1A07) were absent. Approximately 35 persons attended the meeting.

A quorum was declared at 7:20 p.m., and the agenda was amended and approved by voice vote.

By unanimous consent, the commission approved the Minutes of the September 9, 2009 ANC 1A Regular Meeting.

The commission received a Treasury’s Quarterly Report from Treasurer LaKeisha Thomas, and agreed to vote on it later in the meeting.

The commission received comments from the assembly under the Community Comments portion of the meeting.

In the Presentations portion of the meeting, the commission received remarks from DC Youth Power Ntwork (James Pearlstein), Greater DC Cares (Murri Heckler), Chavez Prep School (Andrew Touchette), and DC Council Chairman Vincent Gray….
